Board Certified Urologist, Dr. Barry H. Bodie, Opens Practice In Highlands

Area residents now have access to urology services as Brevard Urologist opens practice in Highlands.
Board Certified Urologist, Barry H. Bodie, MD, has begun seeing patients at Mountain Medical and Surgical Group at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital. Dr. Bodie, will be available to consult with patients on Wednesdays and Fridays each week.
“Highlands-Cashiers Hospital is pleased to be able to work with Pisgah Urology and Dr. Bodie to bring the services of an urologist to our communities,” said Craig James, President and CEO of the Hospital. “Urology is a medical specialty that is of interest to a growing number of residents in the area, and the hospital recognizes that need. We are fortunate that Dr. Bodie was looking to extend his practice and was willing to consider joining us in Highlands.”
For the past 15 years, Dr. Bodie has been with Pisgah Urology in Brevard, NC. He specializes in all aspects of urological care including enlarged prostate; incontinence; cancer of the kidney, bladder and prostate; voiding dysfunction; kidney stones; sexual dysfunction in men and women; male infertility; and urinary system trauma. Background
Dr. Bodie is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has 25 years of active medical practice. He is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina and completed residencies in both general surgery and urology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. Dr. Bodie is a member of the International Continence Society and the American Urological Association. He is the past president of the North Carolina Urological Society and has been an active urologist in Western North Carolina for the past decade.
